Denham Capital Sustainable Infrastructure Appoints Richard Burrell as an Operating Partner

London, UK — 23 February 2023 — Denham Capital, the global energy transition investment firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Burrell as an Operating Partner for its Sustainable Infrastructure business (“DSI”). Richard will operate from Denham’s London office.

Richard’s primary focus as an Operating Partner will be on deal origination across the UK and Western Europe. He will also provide strategic support to select portfolio companies, complementing the strengths of the management teams in place. The appointment demonstrates DSI’s focus on strengthening its core team as the energy transition landscape continues to evolve, given the opportunity set the firm sees in the UK and European markets.

Richard brings considerable experience raising and ensuring the strategic deployment of capital dedicated to infrastructure investments in clean energy. He also has significant experience in identifying, acquiring, integrating and managing complementary businesses, which is essential to DSI’s buy-and-build strategy. As an Operating Partner, Richard will seek to build on DSI’s prior success in the EMEA region and will be an integral part of its growth ambitions.

Richard was previously Chief Executive of AMP Clean Energy. He co-founded and IPO-ed AMP, and led the acquisition of several businesses, building the company into a highly profitable developer, owner and operator of energy transition assets prior to its successful acquisition and privatization by Asterion Industrial.
